Acceptance

By using Beam & Bezel you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site.

What this site is

Beam & Bezel publishes editorial comparisons of flashlights and headlamps, compiled from manufacturer-published specifications and from arithmetic over those specifications. It is published for general information.

We have not tested any of the products described. We own none of them and have handled none of them. Every specification figure is attributed to the document it came from, and every derived figure is an estimate computed by the method described on the methodology page. Nothing here is a measurement made by us.

Accuracy

We take reasonable care to source, attribute and date every figure, and we correct errors promptly when they are reported. We cannot guarantee that any figure is accurate, current or complete, for two reasons worth stating plainly:

• ANSI/PLATO FL 1 figures are self-reported by manufacturers and are not independently audited by anyone.
• Manufacturers revise specifications, discontinue products and change packaging without notice.

Always check the manufacturer’s current documentation before relying on a specification for anything that matters. If you find an error, tell us.

Not professional advice

Nothing on this site is professional, legal, medical or safety advice. Pages that touch on work in hazardous environments, electrical work, hunting regulations or personal safety are comparisons of lighting products only. They do not tell you how to do any of those things safely or lawfully, and they are not a substitute for the relevant regulations, training or professional guidance.

In particular: no product described here carries a hazardous-location certification, and an IP rating is not one. Hunting regulations governing artificial light vary by state, species and season, and we make no attempt to summarize them.

Prices and availability

Prices shown come from a live data layer with the date they were checked and expire after 48 hours; where none is current the button reads Check price. Prices and availability at the retailer change constantly and the retailer’s own page is always authoritative. We are not the seller and take no part in any transaction.

This site links to manufacturer sites, published standards and retailers. We do not control those sites, are not responsible for their content, and their inclusion is not an endorsement of anything beyond the specific fact we cited them for. Some outbound links are affiliate links; see our affiliate disclosure.

Intellectual property

The text, tables, computed figures and design of this site are the property of Slate Mill Group unless otherwise stated. You may quote short passages with attribution and a link. You may not republish substantial portions, and you may not scrape or reproduce our compiled specification tables wholesale.

Product names, model numbers and brand names are the trademarks of their respective owners and are used here for identification only. No affiliation or endorsement is implied. Photographs are licensed stock, used under their respective licenses.

Limitation of liability

This site is provided as is, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Slate Mill Group is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of this site or from reliance on any information published here, including any purchasing decision made on the basis of a specification we reproduced.

Changes

We may update these terms. The updated date at the top of this page reflects the last change. Continued use of the site after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
