Editorial policy

Independence

• We accept no sponsored placements. No manufacturer has paid for a mention, a position, or a favorable description on this site, and none ever will.
• We accept no free products. Nothing has been sent to us, because we do not accept samples. This is easy for us: we do not test products, so a sample would have no purpose.
• Commission does not influence a pick or its position. Rankings follow the published weighting on the methodology page. Where a higher-commission product would rank lower on that weighting, it ranks lower.
• No manufacturer sees a page before publication. We do not send drafts for approval, comment or fact-checking.
• We link only to programs we have actually joined. At launch that is the Amazon Associates program and nothing else.

What we will not publish

• A claim to have tested, owned or handled any product.
• An invented credential, certification or professional qualification.
• An invented award, rating, review count or testimonial.
• Review or AggregateRating structured data. There is nothing to aggregate.
• A price that did not come from the live price layer with its checked date.
• A specification figure without a linked source.
• A stock photograph presented as our own product photography.
• An internal link to a page that does not exist yet.

Sourcing

Every factual claim carries a source, ranked by preference: published standards first, then manufacturer documents, then the brand’s own retail listing where the maker’s site could not be reached, labeled as such. Retailer data is used for price and availability only, never for specifications.

We do not cite another affiliate site, a forum post, a video review or an AI summary as a source of fact. Where sources conflict, we publish both numbers and name which we used and why.

Corrections

Material corrections get a dated note on the affected page stating what was wrong and what it should have been. We do not silently edit a number.

• Reader reports an error — verified against the primary source and corrected within 48 hours, with a note.
• A manufacturer revises a specification — the figure and every value derived from it are updated on every affected page.
• A pick is discontinued or persistently out of stock — replaced within 7 days.
• A new flagship arrives in a category — the roundup is re-evaluated within 30 days.

Report anything wrong to info@beamandbezel.com or via the contact form. We would rather be corrected than be wrong quietly.

How often we re-check everything

• Prices — refreshed automatically and continuously. A figure older than 48 hours disappears rather than going stale.
• Roundups — re-checked every 90 days.
• Reference guides — re-checked every 180 days.
• Every published specification — audited against current manufacturer documents quarterly.
• This policy and the methodology — re-checked annually.

Dates

The published and updated dates on every page reflect genuine content changes only. The automatic price refresh redeploys the site and deliberately does not move them, because a site claiming every page changed every day is a site whose dates mean nothing.

Authorship

Beam & Bezel is written by Scooter M.. Every byline on the site is that person, and the structured data matches the visible byline exactly. We do not use an invented staff entity, an editorial team that does not exist, or a reviewed-by line for a review that did not happen. More on the about page.

AI

We do not treat an AI summary as a source of fact, and no figure on this site was produced by asking a model what it remembered. Every number traces to a document we linked or to arithmetic over figures we linked.
