We earn a commission when you buy through links on this site. Here is exactly how that works, and what it does not change.

The short version

Beam & Bezel is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.

If you click a buy button on this site and then purchase something, we may receive a commission from the retailer. It costs you nothing extra — the price you pay is the same as it would be if you had gone to the retailer directly.

How the links work

Every buy button on this site points at a /go/ address on our own domain, which immediately forward you to the retailer with our tracking tag attached. There are two reasons for that arrangement and neither is hidden:

  • It lets us change where a link points — to a different retailer, or to a replacement product — in one place, without rewriting an article.
  • It lets us count how many people click, which is the only way we can tell which pages are useful. We use Google Analytics for that count.

Our Amazon tracking tag is beamandbezel-20. Every earning link carries rel="sponsored nofollow", and every page carrying one shows an inline disclosure above the first link.

What it does not change

  • It does not change what we recommend. Rankings follow the published weighting on the methodology page. Where a higher-commission product ranks lower on that weighting, it ranks lower.
  • It does not change the order picks appear in.
  • It does not change the price you pay.
  • It does not stop us saying a product is wrong for you. Every pick on this site carries an explicit skip-this-if note, and several pages recommend buying nothing at all.

What we accept and refuse

  • No sponsored content. No manufacturer has paid for a mention or a position.
  • No free products. We accept no samples. We do not test products, so a sample would have no purpose.
  • No paid links. We do not sell links and we do not buy them.
  • No unjoined programs. We link only to affiliate programs we have actually joined. At launch that is Amazon Associates and nothing else.

Prices

Prices shown on this site come from a live data layer with the date they were checked, and they expire after 48 hours. When we have nothing current, the button reads Check price rather than showing a number we cannot verify. Retailer prices change constantly and the retailer’s own page is always authoritative.
